Gidleigh Park

Tudor on the outside, Arts and Crafts within, sitting deep in Dartmoor National Park with no apology for the detour required to reach it. Gidleigh Park is a country house hotel where the twenty-four rooms were rebuilt so thoroughly that the original house and the new addition are basically indistinguishable, which is the point. Marble bathrooms, working everything, croquet on the lawn, and genuinely wild moorland just beyond the hedge. It holds two Michelin Keys.
