Gourmet Louis
Classic French
A moat-encircled medieval castle just outside Basel, reached by wooden bridge, is the setting for this fine dining room. Classic French cuisine arrives as a four-to-six course set menu, served in an 18th-century stone hall where the original stuccowork still earns its keep. The cheese trolley does the rounds, the wine list is properly considered, and the courtyard is there for an aperitif if the castle hasn't already done enough.
