    An old water pump out back is all that remains of the village forge this place used to be. Now it's an intimate restaurant in rural Leicestershire, running a seasonally driven tasting menu of ambitious, layered dishes. The beef Wellington arrives whole and gets sliced tableside, which sounds fussy but lands as genuine theatre. Boutique rooms are available if you'd rather not navigate country lanes afterward.
