    Neon lights, pop art, and retro arcade machines set the scene at this smash burger shop on West Fourth Street. The whole vibe skews cheerfully unserious, which makes it easy to miss that the kitchen is doing something careful underneath it all. A James Beard semifinalist for Best New Restaurant, it draws a crowd that lingers longer than a burger run usually warrants. The Ladykiller, with its black garlic sauce and local pickle chips, is the one everyone orders first.
