A 40-room boutique hotel on a Covent Garden street where a publisher once housed Orwell and Le Carré, which is either charming history or a lot of pressure to put on a hotel bar. The Experimental Cocktail Club group brought in the same designer behind their Grand Pigalle in Paris, and the result has that rare residential quality that central London hotels usually abandon in favor of scale. The cocktail bar is reason enough to linger downstairs.
