    Art Deco bones with a postmodern personality, Hotel Mercier sits on a canal street and leans into color and ornament rather than the cool minimalism Amsterdam boutique hotels made their name on. Rooms run from an honestly labeled Small Double up to a Bridal Suite tucked under the eaves, all with walk-in showers and art that actually holds your attention. The all-day café Bonboon is a good reason to stay in.
