1. Hotel Metropole

    This boutique hotel on the Grand Canal is basically a Venetian fever dream someone actually built. The owning family has filled every corner with art, oddities, and curiosities that reward slow wandering. Rooms are richly baroque, the restaurant is acclaimed, and there's a tearoom tucked inside what used to be a chapel. Guests arrive by water taxi to a private canal entrance, which never stops feeling cinematic.
