    The Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux sits directly across the place de la Comédie, and the architect who designed both never quite settled for modest. This grand hotel has been around forever, and Jacques Garcia's interiors lean into the history with heavy drapes, patterned wallpapers, and a palette of gold and burgundy that stops just short of a royal decree. Gordon Ramsay's two-Michelin-starred restaurant, a Guerlain spa, and a summer rooftop round out the picture.
