    A waterfall that ignites with flames at night sets the tone for this sprawling desert resort, where four themed pools compete for your attention and two championship golf courses fill the gaps. At 950 rooms across 300 Sonoran Desert acres, "going back to the room" barely narrows things down. Eight restaurants mean you can avoid ever leaving, which, in Phoenix in July, is a feature not a flaw.
