    Seven hundred rooms anchored to a shopping mall in downtown Kaohsiung, the Marriott is built for volume and makes no apologies for it. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame Aozihdi Forest Park or the Love River from the upper floors, and the banquet hall seats 2,000, which tells you who the regulars are. Swisspa and indoor pools handle the recovery. Thirty minutes from the airport, fifteen from the high-speed rail, it runs like a machine that happens to have very comfortable beds.
