    A golden cloud of sculptural butterflies floats above the lobby seating, which tells you something about the register this hotel is pitching at. It's a Shangri-La property in everything but name, updated for guests who've stayed in enough boutique hotels to notice the difference. Rooms are high-tech without being fussy, the 35-meter pool is serious, and the window view of Rem Koolhaas's CCTV Tower is worth requesting specifically.
