A 19th-century palace on the Buda side of the river, redesigned by Marcel Wanders in shades of Lake Balaton blue and Hungarian-forest green, which is either very on the nose or exactly right. The Kimpton Bem is a design hotel with a Michelin Key, a rooftop bar, a Mediterranean restaurant, and rooms that alternate between serene and electric depending on which color you booked. A small spa and gym round things out.
