Two centuries-old wood-paneled stuben inside a traditional mountain house set the scene for one of Friuli's quieter surprises. This is a Michelin-starred fine dining room where the chef reads the alpine pantry closely and without showing off, letting season and instinct steer the menu. The wine list is overseen by her daughter, who delivers by-the-glass picks verbally, which is either charmingly old-fashioned or a very good sign you should just ask.
