Le Cercle de Montaigne
Modern French
Black walls, herringbone floors, and 18th-century armchairs give this Bordeaux brasserie the feel of a private club that forgot to lock the door. Two young chefs run the kitchen with just enough creativity to make French classics interesting again, leaning on bergamot, hibiscus, and black tea without losing the plot. The room is handsome and the cooking has a point of view, which in Bordeaux is its own kind of statement.
