A narrow room on Cornelia Street, candles on small tables, the whole thing feeling like it was airlifted from a Paris side street and set down quietly in the West Village. Le Gigot is a classic French bistro where the staff seem pleased to see you, which isn't as common as it should be. The menu runs cassoulet, bouillabaisse, tarte tatin, and all the old reliables, done with enough care that you stop noticing how familiar they are.
