Les Étangs de Corot

The ponds Corot painted are still there, visible from the bedroom windows of this quietly elegant hotel between Paris and Versailles. The décor has a contemporary eye despite all the historical bones, and the spa, Le Bains de Corot, is serious enough to anchor a whole stay. A gastronomic restaurant, a bistro, two bars, and a tearoom mean you rarely need to leave, which is probably the point.
