The marble staircase alone, white and gray with wrought-iron banisters, makes a case for skipping the antique elevator. This boutique hotel in the Lastarria neighborhood occupies a 1920s building designed by the architect behind some of Santiago's most photographed landmarks, and the Art Deco bones are still very much showing: tiled floors, geometric lanterns, octagonal passageways. Guest rooms are contemporary but nod to the era with parquet, velvet, and stained glass. The rooftop has a plunge pool and Andes views.
