Vaulted ceilings and a crackling fireplace inside the Rosewood Sand Hill hotel give this fine dining room the feel of a Silicon Valley Swiss chalet, which the Patagonia-vest crowd has apparently decided is a compliment. The kitchen leans on an almond wood-fired grill and local produce, running from power-lunch sandwiches at noon to house-made pastas and steaks after dark. Simplicity is the through line, and the Santa Cruz Mountains frame every window.
