Maison Chenet - Entre Vigne et Garrigue
Provençal French
A stone farmhouse wedged between limestone cliffs and vineyards outside Avignon, where the garrigue practically walks through the door with you. This is a Michelin-starred restaurant run by a father-and-son team, the father holding the Meilleur Ouvrier de France title, cooking a market-driven Provençal menu that somehow still makes room for Breton butter. Six rooms mean you can sleep off the olive oil ice cream without driving anywhere.
