    Zurich's oldest luxury hotel, freshly overhauled and now flying the Mandarin Oriental flag, sits right on Paradeplatz with the lake, the shops, and the old town basically at your doorstep. Only 80 rooms, so it feels more like a very fancy friend's place than a grand anonymous slab. The interiors are sleek but warm, and the on-site restaurants mean you never have to figure out Zurich on a tired Tuesday night.
