The former home of Italian fashion photographer Gian Paolo Barbieri, Mango House is now a boutique resort on Mahé's southwestern shore, with 41 rooms, five restaurants and bars, and three pools, one of which floats over the bay in the way pools do when no one is watching the budget. The spa looks out over the water, the staff is warm, and the whole property still carries the color and ease of something styled for a shoot.
