Named for the statue crowning Riga's Freedom Monument, this Old Town restaurant leans into Latvian tradition without apology. Grey peas with bacon, meat dumplings, and Lithuanian cepelinai anchor a menu that reads like a Baltic grandmother's recipe box. The room is low-key and the portions are generous, which goes some way to explaining the regulars. The Michelin Guide awarded it a Bib Gourmand, and the prices make that feel almost embarrassing.
