Sitting beside the old fish exchange on Alicante's marina, Monastrell is a contemporary Mediterranean restaurant built around whatever is growing or swimming nearby, much of it from the team's own kitchen garden a few miles inland. The cooking leans into clean, unfussy flavors that read as classically Alicantine even when the technique is modern. The terrace catches a good breeze off the water, which helps explain why it fills up fast.
