    A staircase that leads nowhere and a forest of white tree sculptures greet you in the lobby, which tells you everything you need to know about this hotel. Dutch designer Marcel Wanders did the whole thing, from the sweeping public spaces down to the Arabic-lantern bathrooms, and the result is somewhere between opulent escape and art installation. Mondrian Doha holds a Forbes Four Star rating, and has Masaharu Morimoto's restaurant on site for good measure.
