    The library lounge is named for the publishing house next door, which tells you everything about the neighborhood and the clientele. This boutique hotel on the Left Bank sits in that useful middle ground: stylish but not performatively so, classic but not frozen in amber. Pierre Frey silk curtains share the room with free wi-fi, Carrara marble makes up for modest bathrooms, and the cocktail list gives the leather armchairs something to do after dark.
