The building has been selling food in one form or another forever, moving from eggs and butter to deli to the lively bistro it is now. The open kitchen turns out German classics alongside international dishes, and the wines by the glass keep pace. It holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand, and the room fills fast enough that they skip reservations at lunch entirely, so arriving early is less a suggestion than a strategy.
