Muse by Tom Aikens
Contemporary New American
A Georgian townhouse tucked into a Belgravia mews, seating just 23, so the word "intimate" is an understatement. Tom Aikens' Michelin-starred tasting menu restaurant uses each dish as a kind of edible autobiography, tracing moments from his childhood and career, climbing trees, late-summer barbecues, parental influences. It sounds like a conceit, but the cooking is sophisticated enough to pull it off without making you feel like you're eating someone's diary.
