Named for the biblical hunter-king Nimrod, this modern restaurant in the center of Chinon takes its theme seriously: the chef grew up hunting, gathering, and fishing this stretch of the Loire, and the menu follows what that land actually yields. Local market gardeners and small producers supply most of what arrives at the table. The room is contemporary and calm, the service unhurried and confident. A good address for a proper sit-down lunch or dinner in wine country.
