    The building was designed by Juan de Villanueva, the same architect behind the Prado, which sets a certain tone before you've even checked in. This hotel in the Barrio de las Letras marries that palatial bones with clean contemporary interiors, landing somewhere between antique elegance and modernist chic. A wellness area is on site, with a full spa and gym just across the street at preferential rates for guests.
