The building spent most of its life as the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music, which explains the stately bones. Now it's a luxury hotel one block from Tivoli, redesigned by Swedish architect Gert Wingårdh into something warm and spare without tipping into austere. The rooms feel built to sleep in rather than photograph. A Michelin Key hotel, with a Nordic restaurant and a hammam downstairs for anyone who needs reminding they're on holiday.
