    Warm minimalist rooms with rain showers and thoughtful French fare at dinner place this Michelin Selected hotel a couple of JR stops north of central Tokyo, in Ueno, a neighborhood with its own museums and parks worth a full day. The in-house bistro covers traditional Japanese and Western breakfasts through to casual lunches. Bike rentals from the hotel make the surrounding streets more tempting than the fitness center probably ever will.
