The ground floor is wrapped in loose-crossing timber, and everything inside, down to the staff uniforms, was designed by architect Kengo Kuma. This boutique hotel sits in Oshiage, in the shadow of the Tokyo Skytree, a few train stops east of the center. Rooms run from compact Studios to Library suites. The lobby café doubles as an all-day bar, and the rooftop terrace offers a close-up of the tower that no postcard has quite managed.
