    The staircase was designed by Berlage, and the building has been a boys' school, a women-run hotel, and home to the city's first vegetarian restaurant, more or less in that order. Now a boutique hotel under Sircle Collection, it sits across from the Royal Gardens in the Hofkwartier, with 160-year-old bones dressed in deep colors, sculptural lighting, and carefully chosen art. A Michelin Selected Hotel.
