    The original lift, restored to working order, is still ferrying guests between floors at this grand old alpine hotel, and that tells you something about the approach. Interiors run to natural wood and charcoal, rooms face forest or mountain, and a wooden chalet in the garden serves fondue under crown-glass windows. The slopes of Bergbahnen are a short walk away, assuming the village's luxury boutiques don't intervene first.
