    A working wine estate in the Douro Valley that also happens to run a boutique hotel, so the terraced vineyards you're looking at from your private terrace are the same ones producing what's in your glass. The 18th-century manor is done in calming pastels and Portuguese antiques, breakfast arrives around a communal table in the winery house, and trailheads leave straight from the grounds. Settle in and leave the car keys where they fall.
