Salt River Tubing

Wild horses actually wander the Salt River banks here, which tends to catch first-timers mid-float. This is classic Phoenix summer activity: rent an inner tube, pick either a two-hour run or a longer five-to-six-hour drift, and let moving water do the work while the desert bakes around you. Otters show up too, unbothered. The shorter route draws a crowd; the longer one is quieter. Sunscreen is non-negotiable, and the rapids prefer a rigid body over a relaxed one.
