Getting to Sancho Beach involves climbing down a steep ladder wedged through a crack in a cliff, which is about as accurate a preview of the place as you could ask for. The beach sits inside a national marine park on Fernando de Noronha, an island off the coast of Pernambuco, and the whole setup, emerald water, golden sand, sheer cliffs all around, looks slightly less believable in person than in photographs. The World's 50 Best Beaches list ranks it 33rd globally.
