A former duke's palace in Chamberí, now a Luxury Collection hotel where the entrance hall gets fresh flowers every morning and the old ballrooms have been folded into the lobby as if no one thought to question it. Spanish interior designer Lorenzo Castillo's recent remodel brought the belle époque bones back into focus. The main staircase alone stops conversations. Shopping and the city's bigger draws are a short walk away.
