    Tucked into the historic Hotel San Carlos downtown, this Irish pub trades polished brass for dollar bills taped to the columns and pint glasses hanging from the ceiling. The kitchen turns out proper shepherd's pie and fish and chips while the bar pours creamy Guinness and runs a brisk trade in cheap apple pie shots.
