    A former workers' dormitory turned Forbes Four Star country resort, The American Club sits on the Kohler campus an hour north of Milwaukee, which means every bathroom comes loaded with Kohler fixtures as a matter of corporate pride. The Tudor building has been done up comfortably, and beyond the rooms there are five restaurants ranging from pub fare to haute cuisine, plus an ice cream parlor tucked inside a historic greenhouse.
