The Apsara Rive Droite

A little ferryboat shuttles you across the Nam Khan to reach this nine-room luxury resort on the quieter right bank of Luang Prabang. The French colonial aesthetic runs deep, the rooms are generous, and there's a small pool the original Apsara across the river can't match. The bar and restaurant handle cocktails and Lao food well enough that you rarely feel the urge to leave, though the temples are a short walk once you dock.
