    Two joined Victorian townhouses on a quiet Knightsbridge terrace, where Picassos hang on the walls and the staff-to-guest ratio runs two-to-one, which explains a lot. This 28-room boutique hotel holds a Forbes Five Star and sits within walking distance of the V&A, Harvey Nichols, and Hyde Park. It runs very much on the small, personal, family-owned model: preferences noted, treats left without being asked, dogs welcomed without drama.
