A recent renovation dressed this West Cliff hotel in minimalist white, gold, and green until it looked considerably more Miami Beach than Dorset coast, which is an achievement. The 80 rooms and suites lean into the theme, and the public spaces follow through: one restaurant does driftwood and Mediterranean food, another goes full South Beach. The Michelin Guide selects it among its hotels, if you need a second opinion on the boldness of the colour scheme.
