Four joined Georgian townhouses in the heart of Bath, commissioned by a marquis and now a boutique hotel with a Michelin Key. The rooms vary in size because nobody ripped out the original floor plans, so the bones are pleasingly odd and the architectural details are intact. A married couple runs it, which shows. Atmosphere is the whole point here, and Bath's tendency toward suffocating chintziness has largely been kept at the door.
