    A luxury hotel sitting over Sarasota Bay in the city's cultural district, with the Ringling campus and Marie Selby Botanical Gardens nearby for days you feel ambitious. The hotel itself offers a Tom Fazio-designed golf club, a private Beach Club, a spa, and Jack Dusty, the waterfront bar where the cocktails are creative and the Gulf seafood is the real draw. Sarasota is quieter than its Florida neighbors, which is more or less the point.
