    The stone fireplace out front sets the tone before you even walk in. This downtown Asheville neighborhood restaurant runs on smoke, moving through smoked meats, grilled skewers, sashimi, and dumplings in a rustic room built around an open kitchen and a big central bar. The cocktails lean into the theme, one arrives visibly clouded. A tasting menu handles the decisions if you'd rather the kitchen just take over.
