Robata is short for robatayaki, fireside cooking, and this Japanese grill restaurant takes the name seriously, building its menu around open-flame cooking. The other thing it takes seriously is 1980s and 90s robot anime: murals, 3D models, and graphic characters from the era cover every surface, which makes the room feel like eating inside a collector's fever dream. Indoor and outdoor seating inside the Jaber Al Ahmad Cultural Centre.
