The Best Hotels in Seattle, by the Record

The best hotels in Seattle, by the professional record: Michelin Guide has weighed in, and their honors are what rank this list. citizenM Seattle South Lake Union comes out on top.

Categories

  1. Murals by local artists, including a member of the Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe, set the tone in the lobby of this design-forward hotel on the edge of South Lake Union, a short walk from the Amazon campus. Rooms are deliberately compact, trading square footage for oversized beds, blackout blinds, and full app control over lighting and temperature. The implicit deal: the city is your living room, and the bed is very good.

  2. Art Deco bones from the thirties, a wash of UW purple, and a plaid nod to the city's nineties moment: Graduate Seattle is a boutique hotel that wears its neighborhood on its sleeve. Rooms are comfortable without pushing into splurge territory, which fits the University District just fine. There's no bar or restaurant, just a lobby lounge, but the Neptune Theatre is right across the street and the neighborhood fills in the rest.

  3. Check-in happens at Bar Moxy, which doubles as the lobby, so you're handed a drink before you see your room. The hotel is Marriott's budget-forward brand done with personality: compact rooms in moody charcoal, walk-in showers, motion-activated lighting, and names like Vibe and Groove that are corny enough to circle back around to charming. South Lake Union puts Pike Place and the Space Needle within easy walking distance.

Eat Score

The score comes from the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin star outweighs a listicle. When you sort by what's nearby, distance changes the order, never the score.

          Best Place Score

The Best Place Score rates the area around a point, not any one place. It runs on the scored places nearby: more good stuff within reach, higher score. If it looks low, we probably haven't found enough critics out here yet.
