The best places to drink and stay in Palermo, according to the experts: the Forbes Travel Guide, The 50, and Difford's Guide have all weighed in, and their honors are what rank this list. Villa Igiea comes out on top.
-
A Liberty-style villa perched at the edge of Palermo's bay, this Rocco Forte hotel was designed in the early 1900s by Ernesto Basile, the architect who brought Sicily its own strain of art nouveau. The restoration leaned into that heritage rather than papering over it, so the public rooms feel like a period film set that happens to have very good plumbing. The Irene Forte Spa, seaside gardens, and alfresco dining give it the unhurried pace the city outside does not.
