The lobby never quite decides if it's a hotel or a party, which is exactly the point. Ace Hotel New York anchors NoMad with a ground floor that shifts from laptop-open co-working in the afternoon to a full DJ set by midnight, all without anyone changing rooms. The rooms upstairs are what you'd expect from the chain that made "hip hotel" a genre: raw edges, good sound systems, and guests who pack light.
